Se celebra el día 20 de cada mes de noviembre. Realmente ¿qué se celebra?. ¿Al niño?. ¿ A qué niño?. Este año, coincide con el XX aniversario de la promulgación de sus “Derechos”. Habría que preguntar también, ¿qué derechos? Si está a punto de tramitarse la ley en la que se va a firmar la abolición del primero, que es el derecho a la vida, en lo sucesivo, a los que componen el resto ¿ se les seguirá llamando “derechos” ?
Volviendo al “Día del Niño”, ¿por qué es necesario? Se nos va el recuerdo a países, que ya no son lejanos porque las comunicaciones nos han convertido a todos los hombres en paisanos, donde tantos niños están siendo utilizados y explotados en actividades que nos tendría que sonrojar a todos.
Sin embargo la celebración de este día, es, también, para nosotros, para los habitantes de este primer mundo nuestro, donde la ciencia y la tecnología compiten a diario para tratar de llegar antes y mejor a, no se sabe muy bien, dónde. Puede ser que la razón de la celebración de este “Día” entre nosotros, sea recordar.
Recordar… que ellos, los niños, son parte importante de nuestra vida y de la sociedad. Más importantes, que ese trajín desenfrenado que a veces nos montamos y que ese descontrolado movimiento para ir de un lugar a otro. Recordar que son los niños, los que nos pueden ayudar, más y mejor, a atemperar nuestro habitual ajetreo con su desinterés por el tiempo y su calma al actuar, aunque haya momentos en los que su actividad nos desquicie.
Recordar que es nuestro nervioso egoísmo, el que nos arrebata el control de nuestros actos, y nos torna violentos a la hora de tratarlos porque no siguen nuestro ritmo de adultos un tanto desnortados. Que este “Día” nos sirva para darnos cuenta de la violencia y daño que provoca en ellos, el azote de nuestras prisas.
